Throughout the day there will be opportunities to observe how the technology can help us make new music, have a go yourself and be part of an AI orchestra! You don’t need an instrument or any musical experience, just come along to have fun and try something new! The activity is suitable for families and children of all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult).
Music Making workshop
10:30am – 4:30pm, Turner Sims Foyer, FREE
Join a family music making workshop in the Turner Sims foyer. Drop in any time to make music with your family. The Turner Sims bar will be open selling hot and cold drinks and refreshments to fuel your creativity!
AI Music Explore
11am – 12:30pm and 2.30pm – 4pm, Turner Sims auditorium, FREE
Your chance to see AI technology in action and how it can bring new creative ways to compose music. Experts from University of Southampton Music Department will be able to demonstrate the technology and you will have the chance to try it out yourself. This is a drop in session, you can join at anytime.
AI Orchestra
1pm – 2pm, Turner Sims auditorium, FREE
Come and join the AI Orchestra! You don’t need an instrument or any experience, just come along to explore and play and see what music we can make together! All ages welcome.
Sensory Space
10:30am – 4:30pm, Turner Sims Green Room, FREE
A calm creative space for those that might need a sensory break before rejoining the activity.
Southampton Science and Engineering Festival (SOTSEF) is the University of Southampton’s annual award-winning interdisciplinary science festival that allows everyone to explore and discover what the world of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) has to offer.
These activities are free and do not require a ticket.
