Cesar Hernandez tunes, maintains and restores grand pianos and early keyboards – often caring for fragile vintage instruments other technicians don’t want to touch. He has tuned for Cheltenham, Tetbury, Bath and Malta Festivals, as well as our own Artistic Temperaments Festival. Cesar looks after historical instruments in museums and collections including Holburne, Brighton Pavilion, University of Southampton, and Birmingham Royal Conservatoire.
This is a rare opportunity to spend an hour with Cesar, learning hands-on about the process of tuning. You’ll discover the tricks of the trade, and how to work in a variety of temperaments. This unique event is limited to three people per session and will take place in Turner Sims’ Green Room.
