Temporary Closure of Turner Sims Southampton

Turner Sims remains temporarily closed to the public due to the Covid-19 outbreak and the new national restrictions coming into force from Thursday 5 November 2020. Here’s what this means for us and for you:

Can I visit Turner Sims?

Unfortunately not. Our building is not open to the public at the moment. We miss live music with audiences as much as you do and will re-open our venue (including the Box Office Reception) for public events as soon as it is safe to do so following Government advice. Your health and wellbeing – and ours – is of the utmost importance to us.

Will there be any events?

Yes. We can continue to broadcast and record professional musicians from ‘behind closed doors’ in line with Government guidelines. This means that, whilst you cannot visit our venue, you can enjoy performances that are broadcast live or recorded at Turner Sims from the comfort of your home. Please visit our What’s On page for more information.

I have a ticket for an offline event. What is going to happen?

We’ll let you know as soon as we can – please be patient with us. We are actively communicating with artists and our collaborators to find out whether our original scheduled events are going ahead, postponed or cancelled. We’ll be in contact with you directly to give you a status update for each event.

  • If you have purchased tickets for events at Turner Sims which are now cancelled, you are entitled to refunds.
  • Where alternative dates have been arranged, we would ask that you consider moving your booking to the new date.

If you need to contact the Box Office please email info@turnersims.co.uk or telephone 07787 285188. We will respond as soon as possible, but it is unlikely to be immediately.

How can I support Turner Sims?

We are reliant on the income from ticket sales and the loss of revenue through closure continues to prove very challenging. Thank you to those who have already been generous in donating the value of their tickets for cancelled events. If you have tickets for an event which is cancelled, or cannot make a replacement date, you may wish to consider offering your refund as a donation.

There are also plenty of other ways you can help us continue to bring inspiring music to everyone:

Donate to Turner Sims directly online
Become a Turner Sims Friend and take advantage of a prolonged membership period
Find out about leaving us a legacy
Find out about corporate opportunities

Thank you for your support and we look forward to welcoming you back to Turner Sims as soon as possible.

Take care and keep well.
