I’m so excited to be part of the Turner Sims team, helping attract more students and young people to concerts by taking advantage of the wonderful concert venue right on their doorstep. I applied for this internship as I really want to encourage more people to attend the dynamic concerts put on each week, and I want to help showcase the wide variety of talented students we have in the music department who Turner Sims actively support.
In just 2 months, this internship has strengthened my organisation and budgeting skills, introduced me to the more tech-based side of stage managing, and helped me gain key experience in arts administration – a field I am particularly interested in pursuing. Looking forward, I’m keen to develop strong foundations with the music societies across the University and secure a working relationship that benefits both parties in their endeavours to bring high quality music to campus.
