Our sparkly new Concert Promotions Intern tells us a bit more about herself…
Hi! My name is Becky Davies and I’m a Concert Promotions Intern here at Turner Sims.
I’m currently a third year English student at the University of Southampton, and although I’m no virtuoso like many of my fellow interns, music is a huge part of my life. My earliest memories are driving around in the car listening to CDs with my parents, and nowadays I love nothing more than curating a playlist ready for any occasion, whether it be for a relaxed study session or a summer afternoon in the garden with my friends. I also absolutely love live music, as nothing beats the feeling of joy you get from seeing an artist you admire creating music right before your eyes.
That’s why I jumped at the chance to work with Turner Sims – I’ve always wanted to learn more about the other side of the industry I hold so close to my heart, and am really looking forward to gaining experience of promoting events. Yes, there may be the small matter of a pandemic getting in the way of concerts at the moment, but I’m also excited to use this as an opportunity to learn more about artists and genres that are new to me, and hopefully encourage others to do the same!
In my spare time, I love going for long walks in the local area (it’s amazing how much natural beauty there is on our doorstep in Southampton!), cooking and baking, and spending time with my friends and family.
