We care about your privacy and are committed to protecting your data. We conform to the terms of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679) (GDPR 2016), the UK Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018), the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulation (PECR) and any other relevant data protection legislation that may apply (together ‘Data Protection Legislation’).
For full details on how we collect and use your personal data please see our Privacy Notice.
You can purchase tickets online 24 hours a day, or in person or by telephone on 023 8059 5151 during Box Office opening hours.
You can opt for free e-tickets or have your tickets printed and posted to you for a small charge. We encourage you to choose free e-tickets to help minimise our environmental impact.
For your safety and security you will be asked to provide your name, address, postcode, email address and a telephone number when making a booking.
Payment
We accept payment by cheque, Visa, Delta, Mastercard, Maestro, and Turner Sims Gift Voucher. The University of Southampton no longer accepts payment by American Express.
Booking fees
Turner Sims does not charge booking fees. Instead, we ask you to make a donation when booking your tickets. Donations enable us to widen access to the joy of live music.
Reselling tickets
Buying and reselling tickets for personal commercial gain makes them void and subsequent ticket holders will be refused admission into the auditorium.
Discounts are available for Friends of Turner Sims, Students (with a valid Student ID), Under 18s, School groups and Groups of 8 or more. Details of applicable discounts will be shown in the Need to Know section of each event page.
Discounts cannot be combined with other offers (unless specifically stated), or applied retrospectively, and may be withdrawn at any time. Proof of ID may be requested. From time to time we may make special offers in addition to those published in print or on the website. These cannot be applied retrospectively and exclusions may apply.
School and college groups
We offer generous discounts for school and college groups, which can be found using the price filter in What’s On. Tickets are just £7.50 per ticket when booking for a teacher-led group in one transaction. The ticket price applies to teachers and pupils. Tickets must be paid for no later than 7 days prior to a performance. No other discounts may be applied.
Group bookings
For most Turner Sims events, we offer group discounts for groups of 8 or more people. Book 8 full price tickets and we will give you a 9th ticket for free. All tickets must be purchased in one transaction. No other discounts may be applied to group bookings.
To make a school or group booking, please get in touch with the Box Office team on 023 8059 5151 or email info@turnersims.co.uk.
All Friends benefits are subject to availability and to the following conditions (which are subject to change).
Turner Sims reserves the right to withdraw or amend benefits without prior notice and to cancel a Friends membership at any time.
Friends are entitled to priority booking for selected Turner Sims events. Notification of a priority booking period and any associated ticket offers or discounts will be sent via email to the named Friend if a valid email address has been provided. Priority booking periods are determined by Turner Sims and can be of any duration.
Please check the individual event information online.
Friends are entitled to ticket offers and discounts for most Turner Sims events. Please see individual event pages for details. Discounts cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, including concessions, or be applied to tickets already purchased. All bookings must be made by the named Friend.
Discounts can be applied to tickets for events dated beyond your membership expiry date, as long as your membership is valid at the time of booking. Any purchase of tickets will be subject to our terms and conditions of sale.
By purchasing a Friends membership, you give Turner Sims consent to contact you by phone, email and postal communications concerning membership administration, updates and benefits.
If you are unable to attend for any reason, your tickets are non-refundable. Tickets for Turner Sims promoted events may be exchanged for other Turner Sims promoted events or credit issued to your Turner Sims account. You must inform the Box Office at least 24 hours before the performance (4 days for group bookings). If you notify us later than this, tickets may only be resold if the event is sold out. £2 administration fee applies.
Tickets can only be refunded if a performance is cancelled.
Occasionally promoters sell tickets through agencies such as See Tickets and Ticketmaster for events at Turner Sims. Please note that agency tickets may be subject to different terms and conditions; please check their websites for details. We accept no responsibility for tickets or services purchased via an agency or third party.
For the best possible Turner Sims experience, please book directly through this website or our friendly box office team.
All young people under the age of 14 must be accompanied to all Turner Sims events and activities, unless stated otherwise. We reserve the right to challenge anyone trying to enter an event if they look underage.
Occasionally, events may have different age restrictions stated on individual booking pages. Where these differ from the above, the age guidance on the event page applies.
Cancelled performances
If a performance is cancelled, with sufficient notice, we will endeavour to contact audiences in advance by email and/or phone. We will also send updates on social media and on our website. We will replace tickets for an alternative event, credit your account or, if this is not possible, refund the ticket value. In the event of a cancelled performance, we will not be liable for any additional travel or accommodation expenses or any other additional consequential losses.
Sometimes events are cancelled at short notice. Please help us contact you by providing a valid mobile number when booking your tickets.
Alterations to performances
Turner Sims reserves the right to alter the performance or advertised line-up, where such alterations are necessary due to unforeseen circumstances.
We want you to have the best possible experience at Turner Sims. If you have specific access requirements, please let us know when you book your tickets and we will do everything we can to accommodate your needs. Please see our Access page for further information.
Valid tickets and ID
You will need a valid paper ticket or e-ticket to enter a ticketed event. This must be shown to a steward when entering the hall. ID may be requested when checking student tickets.
Late arrivals
We are all late from time to time. To limit disturbance to fellow audience members and artists, we may ask you to sit in an alternative seat or wait until a suitable break in the performance before entering. Very occasionally this may mean waiting until the interval.
Refusing admission
Turner Sims reserves the right to refuse admission in reasonable circumstances or to request any ticket holder to leave the venue and take appropriate action to enforce this right.
The use of cameras or any visual or audio recording equipment is strictly prohibited. We encourage you to put your phones away and enjoy the live experience.
