Our big ambitions

We are a small and ambitious team who are often told we punch above our weight. Over the next five years we aim to:

Grow our engagement offer and capacity to create sustained programmes with local communities

Improve access and sustainability within our building to look after people and planet

Increase performance and career development opportunities for young creatives, on and off stage

Your support could spread the joy of live music, minimise our environmental impact, and make Turner Sims more welcoming for all.

Turner Sims is progressive. It wants to grow, improve and be more inclusive rather than staying comfortable.

Our income and expenditure

We are grateful to be part of the University of Southampton as well as Arts Council England’s National Portfolio. Their combined investment makes up 63% of our total income.

The University of Southampton covers 100% of our permanent staff costs. That means every donation we receive goes straight to activity and improvements.

Last year we were able to replace our lighting rig with new energy efficient LED lighting. The switch enhanced artist and audience experience while reducing our carbon footprint. A generous anonymous donation made the transformation possible.
